Gift of alumni (ae) and friends to support the efforts of MIT students to engage their skills for the benefit of resource poor communities external to MIT and thus enhance students overall academic experience.

Gifts of alumni/ae and friends to support MIT's goals for Inclusive Excellence, including support for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Visiting Professors and Scholars Program.

To provide programs and services in support of Latino and Latina alumni, students, and prospective students of MIT.

Gifts to the fund will help provide critical support for programs and activities relative to undergraduate under represented minority groups at MIT.

Established by the Black Alumni/ae of MIT (BAMIT) in 1986, the Fund is named in honor of Dr. Ronald E. McNair '77, the NASA astronaut and MIT alumnus who lost his life in the space shuttle Challenger explosion on January 28, 1986. Dr. McNair's commitment to professional excellence and community service are qualities that the Fund recognizes and rewards in black MIT undergraduates.
