Examples of these needs are, but not limited to: emergency travel due to a family member illness, medical emergency or death; transportation to or from a hospital or other medical care for students with mobility challenges; airfare home for an international student whose visa expired upon graduation; emergency winter clothing and/or boots, especially for students from warm climates; transportation or miscellaneous other expenses for a student whose parents come to campus to take him or her 'home'; and at year end, TechCash dining for students whose personal funds have been exhausted.

Gifts from the Class of 1997 to provide grant support for students participating in public service work under the administration of the MIT Public Service Center. Grant support could include, but not be limited to, travel, program implementation, lodging, materials and equipment used in project development, or communication needs.

Our Senior Gift project, the Class of 2000 Clock, was installed on the Student Center in 2002. Now, all donations to the fund support the incredible variety of student activities on campus by sponsoring the programs and events of student groups. Administered by the Student Activities Office, past support includes the Multicultural BBQ, Pugwash, Kappa Alpha Theta's Katwalk, and Greek Intervarsity.

Gifts provide budgetary assistance to undergraduate students who require additional funding in order to turn project ideas into reality.

Gifts support this endowed scholarship fund that is awarded to senior class members who are significantly involved in MIT student life. The fund supported three students since its creation, and currently supports one student each year.

The Class of 2007 Study Abroad Fund supports undergraduate students participating in summer and/or IAP study abroad through the MIT Study Abroad Office. The fund supports travel, housing, tuition, program fees, books, and other related expenses.

Gifts to this fund will help offset costs for unpaid MIT students participating in the Externship Program over IAP.

The Class of 2009 MIT OpenCourseWare Fund helps make MIT course materials available online to any user in the world. The fund supported the update of video content and course material for 5.111 Principles of Chemical Science. The fund now helps keep OCW going and growing.

Gifts to this fund will provide MIT undergraduate students who are participating in an unpaid or underpaid summer internship/volunteer opportunity with a grant to help cover summer housing expenses.
