Much of the groundbreaking work that takes place at MIT can’t be contained within one discipline, or even one School.
Here, faculty and students from diverse fields work together in interdisciplinary laboratories, programs, and centers that tap the collaborative expertise of scholars across the Institute. Some programs, in fact, involve one or more institutions completely outside of MIT. Like the Schools, these programs have unique and important funding needs. And, also like the Schools, each makes exceptional contributions—to the Institute, and to the world.
